Lace, country flowers and handmade details from a pretty American wedding

So many pretty details from this handmade country wedding, plus a gorgeous lace wedding dress.  I’m loving the ceremony order of service, very similar to the style we went for.  And what a lovely combination of yellow and white daisy flowers with red roses.

A wonderful day at The Vintage Wedding Fair

What an incredible day yesterday was!  Exhausting, but great fun and really worthwhile.  Mr Rigg and I were up at 7am packing the car and heading off to Harrogate for The Vintage Wedding Fair

There was a great buzz when we arrived with lots of gorgeous women in pretty vintage outfits with stunning hair styles.  Everyone was busy bringing in boxes and fussing over their stands.  We set up our stall – I was delighted with how it looked…but our camera almost died and continues to die, so the photos are all a bit fuzzy which is a shame.

Charlie Ryrie, who I met recently, who runs The Real Cut Flower Garden sent me a stunning vintage style bouquet of her flowers and some sweet buttonholes to display on my table.  They arrived on Saturday morning carefully packaged in a tall box and cushioned with tissue paper and dried hops.

The fair opened at 11.30am with a queue of people already waiting.  Between 11.30am and 1pm we were inundated with people – it was fantastic.  I could barely get my goody bags out quick enough, tell people about the directory and answer their questions about the beautiful bouquet and buttonholes.

From lunchtime onwards things calmed down a little with a steady steam of visitors to talk to.  Lots of girls were trying on some of the beautiful vintage wedding dresses that were on offer.  My stall was inbetween two vintage wedding dress sellers so I spent lots of time gazing at gorgeous dresses of lace and netting.

Just down from me was Joanne from Vintage Twee who had a lovely stall displaying a selection of her handcrafted, vintage inspired tea party and wedding decorations.  It was only in the last hour when Mr Rigg returned from lunch with his family that I had a chance to wander round and see some of the other stalls.

Keeley of Discover Vintage who organised the event had created something truly wonderful.  The Vintage Wedding Fair was everything I’d hoped it would be as an exhibitor, and I’m sure the brides, grooms, and their family had a great experience too.
